'Brick & Basil Pizzeria' started with a simple aspiration: to bring authentic Neapolitan pizza to London. Founded by the Bennett family in 1985, our pizzeria began as a small, family-operated venue with recipes passed down through generations.
Oliver Bennett, our founder, learned the craft of pizza-making during her journeys across Italy, studying under master pizzaiolos in Naples—the birthplace of pizza. Returning to the UK, she was determined to recreate the magic of true Italian pizza, using traditional techniques and the finest ingredients.
What began as a modest 12-seat pizzeria has grown into a cherished local institution, yet our commitment to quality and authenticity has never wavered. We still employ the same wood-fired oven techniques, make our dough fresh daily, and source the highest-quality ingredients available.
Today, 'Brick & Basil Pizzeria' remains family-owned and operated, with the second generation of the Bennett family now leading our devoted team. While we’ve embraced some modern innovations, the core of our business remains the same: crafting delicious, authentic pizza that brings people together.
